Over Hilton Head

This was shot on a Cessna flight from Arizona to Virginia via Georgia In the summer of 2010. I had stopped for a night on the coast of Georgia at a very cool little island called St. Simmons, landing just ahead of a huge storm before continuing north the next day. Flying low along the coast, I came on the beautiful resort beaches at Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. Being a strictly west coast guy, the whole east coast scene really caught my eye. I circled over a few areas shooting mostly vertical perspectives through the open window. This one took the prize with its precise blue umbrellas framing the top, fairly consistent distribution of beachgoers and the picturesque variety of colorfull paraphenallia strewn uniformly across the sand.
