Steadfast

I had just departed Falcon Field in Mesa for northeastern Arizona in mid-January when I noticed a system of picturesque clouds meandering around the rocky summits of Four Peaks Mountain. Adjusting my heading and climb, I was soon in position for a truly ethereal shot out the open window of my Cessna. I love the character and depth communicated in the image, with the hint of a recent dusting visible through intermittent clouds. These ancient rocky peaks have stood firm and steady through centuries of wind and storm, and seemed fully prepared for a quick capture, recording a singular moment-in-time of this beautiful mountain summit in Arizona.
